The Golden Ascent

Black Hills, South Dakota

Tucked along the winding back roads leading toward Cement Ridge, the northern Black Hills reveal some of their most beautiful autumn scenery. Last fall, while making my way through this quiet stretch of countryside, I came upon a hillside blanketed in brilliant golden aspens, their leaves glowing beneath the soft afternoon light.

The contrast was remarkable. A sweeping ribbon of gold climbed the hillside, framed by towering evergreens, warm autumn grasses, and a beautifully textured sky overhead. Every element seemed to fall perfectly into place, from the richness of the changing leaves to the gentle light illuminating the grove.

It's places like this, away from the busier roads and familiar overlooks, that remind me why I love exploring the Black Hills. Sometimes the most beautiful scenes aren't found at the destination, but somewhere along the way.

The Limited Collection

Each piece in the Limited Collection is produced in small, signed editions and includes a certificate of authenticity. These works offer a balance between rarity and accessibility — created for collectors who value fine art craftsmanship without the exclusivity of the Reserved tier. Once the edition sells out, it will not be reprinted in this format.

• Classic Borderless Frameless Prints – Printed on museum-grade cotton rag paper in a lustre finish, perfect for custom framing. These have an archival life of 100 years in typical display conditions and 200 years in dark storage. This style does NOT come with a frame.

• Metal Print – Satin-finish vibrancy and vibrant color depth and detail; edge-to-edge imagery on aluminum with sleek, modern finish. Mounted on a 3/4" float mount with pre-cut hanging holes. This medium style does NOT come with a frame.

• Float Frame Canvas Pro – Museum-grade artistry and timeless presentation; printed on archival fine art canvas with exceptional color accuracy, depth, and texture. Each piece is hand-stretched and expertly mounted within a refined floating frame that creates the illusion of the image “suspended” inside the frame. Crafted in Italy, these canvases combine traditional craftsmanship with modern precision for unmatched quality and longevity. Ready to hang and built to last, this premium format brings warmth, dimension, and a gallery-level finish to any space.
