Sylvan Lake Black & White

Sylvan Lake may not be located directly behind Mount Rushmore or hold buried treasure amongst the rocks, but its certainly one of the Black Hills most iconic lakes. Nestled in the heart of Custer State Park this lake holds close to many people's hearts and for good reason. It's uniquely picturesque geology is unlike anywhere you've ever seen. So of course, I set out one early May morning to capture this lake in its stillness before the crowds swarmed.
