Prehistoric Montana

East Rosebud Lake, nestled at the base of Montana's Beartooth Mountains, is one of my favorite places to return to with a camera. I'm incredibly fortunate to have family friends who have generously opened their cabin to me over the years, allowing me to experience this remarkable landscape in every season. This photograph was captured just beyond their back deck during one of my first visits, a late autumn afternoon when a veil of low mist softened the surrounding peaks and filled the valley with a quiet, dreamlike atmosphere.

This image has been recognized in several juried competitions, including Photographer's Forum Magazine, receiving Curator's Choice, and earning Second Place in the Professional Division at the 2015 Dahl Arts Center Mountain Gallery Exhibit.
