On a quiet summer evening in June, I set out to photograph the full Strawberry Moon rising over the plains. But as storms rolled in from the west, nature took its own direction. Near Bear Butte—an ancient and sacred formation revered by many Indigenous nations—a single, blinding bolt split the sky and struck the mountain before my eyes.
“Strike of the Sacred” is a visual record of that moment. A reminder of nature’s force, timing, and the reverence it commands.
