Create Amazing 3D Art with Paint 3D on Your Mac or Android Device

If you're lacking creative ideas for a more complicated project, you can work with the prebuilt 3D models available in the Remix 3D panel. You can also download stickers from the community, which you can apply to your model for decoration. When you apply a sticker, it automatically wraps itself around the 3D object, while any paint you apply sticks perfectly to the edges of your creation.

Use the Paint controls, in the Material section of the 3D Text section of the Text inspector, to create the effect of a coat of paint added to the surface of the 3D title. Depending on the option you choose in the Paint pop-up menu, different parameter controls become available.

To import your own 3D model, make sure you're on the Procreate Gallery page and tap Import in the top right corner. Find the location of the file you want to import, which must be an OBJ or USDZ file, and tap it to open. The file will immediately be imported to Procreate's painting page, and you can begin working on it right away.

However, if you want to halve your work time and paint a whole texture set at once, you can select the entire mesh by holding the modify icon (the empty round-cornered square between the brush size and opacity toolbar on the left) and tapping on either mesh on the 3D object. In doing this, you select every mesh within the texture set.

You can also paint through a mesh by toggling the Paint through mesh option on under 3D in the Actions menu (the spanner icon next to Gallery in the toolbar). This function is helpful if there is an object blocking the mesh you want to paint, so you don't have to keep toggling Show layer on and off.

Since you are painting a 3D object that emulates reality, the roughness and metallic layers are there to bring life to the object through texture and sheen. Think about the object and how it would act in real life; is it made of smooth plastic, or was it carved from wood? How would it reflect in various lighting and environmental settings?

While it's perfectly fine to draw directly onto the object in 3D mode, it can be challenging when you want to add small details, such as a signature or detailed pictures. The 3D mode might warp the brush, or you might not get the same precision you would have painting in 2D. That's where Show 2D Texture comes in handy.

As you can see, painting a 3D model with Procreate is a simple and easy process. The interface is user-friendly, and there are potentially limitless colors, brushes, and 3D models for you to use during the process. The only downside is that you can't create a 3D model from scratch, but when it comes to bringing one to life, Procreate has got you covered.

The new Paint 3D app will be available to users as part of the Windows 10 Creators Update that Microsoft claims will be available for free to 400 million Windows 10 users early next year. However it has now made the Paint 3D Preview app available to download from the Microsoft Store. Users will have to be part of the Windows Insider Program to use an early version of the Paint 3D app alongside installing the latest Windows Insiders build (Build 14800 or above) on their systems. Figured it out. I have to split the edges then divide it by Parts. That will give me 12 separate faces. The challenge then is to have laid out a color scheme and painting by trial and error each face and undoing accordingly. Not such a difficult proposition with 12 faces, but, certainly more challenging with more identical faces.

Is it possible in Procreate to paint to individual faces without overlap. For example, a cube. If you want to be able to paint to each face separately without overlap, what would be the best way to export it (Example: OBJ, Software: Blender)?

Controls on the resulting screen let you resize, spin, and tilt the image. But the coolest part for me came next, when I chose a sticker to decorate the building. You can download stickers from the community, too. When you apply a sticker to a 3D object, it wraps around the object like, well, paint. For more customization, I opened the Brush panel, which offers a marker, pen, pencil, crayon, and more. I smeared my building a little and just like the sticker, the paint stuck perfectly to the edges of the building. It's incredibly fun. A written review can't convey how much fun it is to use the new Paint 3D.

Thanks for the info but I dont understand what you mean by downloading the latest version of the app on another i device and then going back to the ipad and downloading it to see if there is an older version available? What is the link between to the two devices and how does downloading on another device relate to downloading on the ipad please?
